EQ7 for Mac Downloading Problems

Problems downloading EQ7 to your Mac can be caused by a misconfiguration in the OSX firewall or in Gatekeeper

Most issues can be solved by temporarily disabling the OSX firewall or disabling Gatekeeper.

Turn off OSX’s Firewall while downloading

Disable OSX’s Firewall

1. Click on the Apple icon at the top left corner of the screen.
2. In the menu that appears, click on “System Preferences.”
3. In the “System Preferences” window, click on “Security & Privacy.”
4. Click the “Firewall” button.
5. Click the “Turn Off Firewall” button.
6. If the button is grayed out:
   1. Click the lock in the button left of the window.
   2. Type your OSX Username and Password when prompted.
   3. Click the “Unlock” button.
   4. Click the “Turn Off Firewall” button.

Download EQ7

1. Go to http://electricquilt.com/
2. Click the “Your Account” link at the top right.
3. If you do not see a “Your Account” link, you will need to login into your ElectricQuilt.com account:
   1. Click on the “Log in or Create Account” link at the top right.
   2. Under “Returning Users”, type your ElectricQuilt.com Username/Email and Password.
   3. Click the “Login” button.
4. Click the “Downloads” link.
5. Click the “Download File” link next to your EQ7 for Mac purchase.

Enable OSX’s Firewall
