After windows 1703 there is an option that you will have to enable in your Windows settings in order for the surface pen to function as expected in EQ8. Please ensure that you are on the most recent version of windows, at least version 1809, then follow the directions below.

  1. Go to Settings > Devices
  2. On the left you should see ‘Pen & Windows Ink’, click on that
  3. You should now see four check-boxes. Ensure the checkbox reading ‘Let me use my pen as a mouse in some desktop apps’ is checked.
  4. Restart your EQ8 and try using your pen again!
