EQ7 connects to the internet for validation, activation, and deactivation. Because of this it may be necessary to allow EQ7 access through your Firewall.
Adding an exception to the windows firewall in Windows 10, 8 or Windows 7
- For Windows 10 or 8, press the Windows key on the keyboard. On the Apps screen, scroll to the right and find the Windows System category. Click on the Control Panel icon.
- For Windows 7, click Start > Control Panel.
- Under the Category view in Control Panel, click System and Security.
- Under Windows Firewall, click Allow a program through Windows Firewall.
- Click Allow another program.
- Click Browse and browse to C:\Program Files (if your operating system is 64-bit, open Program Files X86)\Electric Quilt Company\EQ7\.
- Select eq7.exe and click Open.
- Click Add.
- Make sure the checkbox in the Domain column is checked next to EQ7.
- Click OK.
Adding an exception to the windows firewall in Windows Vista
- Click Start > Control Panel.
- Under the Category view in Control Panel, click Security.
- Under Windows Firewall, click Allow a program through Windows Firewall.
- Click Add program.
- Click Browse and browse to C:\Program Files (if your operating system is 64-bit, open Program Files X86)\Electric Quilt Company\EQ7\.
- Select eq7.exe and click Open.
- Click OK.
- Make sure the checkbox is checked next to EQ7.
- Click OK.
Adding an exception to the windows firewall in Windows XP
- Click Start > Control Panel.
- Click Windows Firewall.
- Click the Exceptions tab.
- Click Add program.
- Click Browse and browse to C:\Program Files\Electric Quilt Company\EQ7\.
- Select eq7.exe and click Open.
- Click OK.
- Make sure the checkbox is checked next to EQ7.
- Click OK.
Adding an exception to a 3rd party firewall
If you use a firewall other than Windows Firewall, contact the manufacturer of your firewall software for instructions on how to allow a program access through the firewall. The full path to EQ7: is C:\Program Files (or Program Files x86)\Electric Quilt Company\EQ7\eq7.exe.
