Error 1603 — Cyclic Redundancy

Error 1603 can mean you do not have permission to install on the computer. Make sure the user account that you are installing EQ7 under has administrator privileges. If you do have admin privileges, and still get a 1603 error, then try these steps:

  1. Use the Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter from Microsoft:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
  2. Then before installing, temporarily disable your antivirus software. If you right-click the anti-virus icon by your clock, it should allow you to “turn off” or “pause protection.”
  3. Then, to be on the safe side, can you copy the contents of the CD from another computer to a USB. Then install from that USB. (This will help if the computer is having some problem reading from the CD, which can also produce this error.)
