Error 8 is often caused by a network connection problem
Error 8 will occur when trying to activate or re-validate on a disconnected or misconfigured network connection. This is common on laptops where a wireless or wired connection is possible.
Disabling inactive network connections
- Connect to the Internet
- Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center
- Click “Change adapter settings”
- Here you will see a list of the current network connections. Right click -> Disable any of the connections you know to be inactive.
- Try to start and activate your EQ software again.
