Putting the Dear Hannah quilt in EQ7 or EQ8 (PC or Mac)
- Put the Dear Hannah CD in your drive.
- Open EQ.
- Click Open an Existing Project > click the “Click here to open a project not listed above” folder > browse to your CD drive.
- Open the folder called Dear Hannah.
- Open the folder called For EQ.
- Change the “Files of Type” (down at the bottom of the Open box) to look for Previous EQ versions. You will then see the Dear Hannah Quilt.PJ5 file. This is an EQ5 project for the quilt.
- Click on it once to select it > click Open > close the Sketchbook.
- Click FILE > Save as – save it here:
for EQ7 (My) Documents > My EQ7 > PJ7.
for EQ8 (My) Documents > My EQ8 > Projects.You will now have the Dear Hannah project saved in EQ.
Linking the Dear Hannah blocks in EQ7 or EQ8 (PC or Mac)
You can save the .blk file right into EQ.
- Put the Dear Hannah CD in your drive.
- Go to (My) Computer > right-click your CD ROM drive > click Open. You should now see all the files on the CD.
- Find the folder called Dear Hannah and open it. Then open the folder called For EQ.
- Here you’ll see a DHannah.blk file. This is an EQ5 block library file of all the blocks.
- Click on it once, to select it. Use CTRL (Command on Mac) + C to copy this file.
- For EQ7 navigate to: Documents > My EQ7 > Add-on Libraries.
For EQ8 navigate to: Documents > My EQ8 > Add-on Libraries. - Create a folder called Dear Hannah inside the Add-on Libraries folder.
- Use CTRL (Command on Mac) + V to paste the DHannah.blk file into the Dear Hannah folder.
When you open the Block Library in EQ you will see a new category called Dear Hannah, with the blocks.
